After 31 years imprisonment: Let's embrace the process 2025-06-26 09:57:13   ÊLIH – Ahmet Doğan, who was released from prison after 31 years, was welcomed enthusiastically in his hometown Êlih (Batman). Doğan called for embracing the process.    Ahmet Doğan, 61, was released from Adana Kürkçüler Prison on 25 June, was greeted with a massive welcome in Gırésira (Balpınar) town of Êlih.    Ahmet Doğan, stated that Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan's 27 February "Call for Peace and Democratic Society" is important for the Kurdish people and invited all Kurds to embrace this call. Doğan said, "All difficult processes are ending, this imprisonment is also over. A new process has begun. We will embrace this process en masse."   WHO IS AHMET DOĞAN?   In December 1994, he was detained in Êlih and sentenced to life imprisonment by the State Security Court (DGM). Doğan's sentence expired in January 2025 and his release was postponed for 6 months by the Administration and Observation Board. Doğan was held in Êlih, Giresun, Şirnex (Şırnak), Wan (Van) and Adana Kürkçüler prisons.
