Trustee expelled many children from day-care centres

WAN - Wan Metropolitan Municipality under the trustee administration has expelled a large number of children from Perperok Kindergarten on the grounds of "non-payment of wages".

The trustee administration firs cancelled JINKART, which provides free transportation for women, and Social Support Cards for poor women. It also stopped 2 facility projects prepared for the employment of women. In addition, it suspended many works in the fields of roads, water, sewerage, zoning, women, youth and culture.

The trustee administration also started to remove children from the Perperok Nursery School, where education in mother tongue was provided. The names brought in charge of the nursery after the trusteeship expelled many children from the nursery on the grounds that "their wages were not paid".

In the daycare centre, which was activated during the DEM Party administration, families with no financial means were not charged. Other families paid a small fee.

'WHY ARE CHILDREN EXPELLED FROM THE DAY-CARE CENTRE?'

Reyhan Bahadır, whose child was expelled from the daycare centre, stated that her daughter had attended the daycare centre for 10 months and that she was not charged. Reyhan Bahadır said, "After the trustee, many children were expelled from the daycare centre. When the municipality was under DEM Party administration, our children's kindergarten education was continuing without any problems."

Reyhan Bahadır also stated that the person appointed as the director of the day-care centre threatened them and said, "I went to the person appointed as the director of the day-care centre. I asked him why they kicked our children out of the day-care centre. He said that we had not paid any fee until today. When I objected, he threatened to detain me."

Reyhan Bahadır, who stated that they were aggrieved because their children were removed from the daycare centre, added, "We were able to do our work when our children went to the daycare centre. I go to do cleaning and there is no place where I can leave my daughter. As victimised families, we complain about this situation. We do not want a trustee and we do not want a municipality managed by a trustee."
