DEM Party’s İmralı Delegation member Ahmet Türk stated that Abdullah Öcalan and the PKK had fulfilled their responsibilities and emphasized the importance of steps to be taken by the state. "If this process is to turn into lasting peace, the state must respond to public expectations," he said.
Since historic call of Abdullah Öcalan on 27 February, the government and the state have “only” made wishes instead of taking concrete steps. After the PKK’s announcement of its congress decisions on 12 May, all eyes turned to the steps to be taken by the state.
Speaking at the PKK congress, KCK Executive Council Co-Chair Cemil Bayık said, "Every step Leader Apo has taken so far has resulted in victory for us, for our people, for our movement, and for humanity."
Commemorations will be held in dozens of provinces and districts for PKK's leading cadres Ali Haydar Kaytan and Rıza Altun.
