Stating that they are behind Abdullah Öcalan's call, Peace Mothers emphasised that for a lasting solution and peace, Abdullah Öcalan and the prisoners must first be released from prison.
Yıldız Bahçeci, the sister of Gulan, who lost her life in the ranks of the PKK, said of Abdullah Öcalan's call, “Everyone should trust him. The next century will be the century of freedom.”

Women went on a work stoppage in Izmir, Ankara, Istanbul and Eskisehir and organized statements and events in many cities on March 8.
